Special exhibit: a trio of watercolorists

On May 2, The Corner Gallery had a special opening featuring the paintings of Doris Johnson, Pat Fitchpatrick, and Betsy Spooner. Pat Fitchpatrick spoke about her recollections of growing up during the 1950s, when she would sketch while listening to radio dramas; Betsy Spooner talked about her young days in Syracuse, New York and her experience working with preschool children; and Doris Johnson talked about her years of experience painting porcelain, and how her current wall art reflects that expertise.
The three artists also spoke about the differences between using oil and watercolors, and described the processes they had gone through while creating their artwork currently on exhibit.

A nice crowd attended the reception and congratulated Ms. Johnson, Ms. Fitchpatrick and Ms. Spooner on their works and insightful talks.

The gallery's website and brochure will be updated soon -- so keep an eye out for them.

In the meantime, stop by the Corner Gallery for the latest in wearable art, paintings, sculpture, stationery, kitchen linens, green shopping bags and more -- all by talented local artists. There's bound to be something by someone you know!

We look forward to seeing you at the gallery. If you have any questions about the art on display, don't hesitate to ask the knowledgeable gallery member who's on duty when you're there!
